This parady was hilarious when I watched it. Ha ha ha. Whatever. Buttons, Sia.

It always surprises me about how many people don’t know what the maypole represents. Can’t you people figure it out? It’s so obvious! But for those of you too thick, I will spell it out for you: THE POLE IS A GIANT DICK, AND THE RIBBONS ARE A VAGINA. Get it? Mayday was originally the holiday of sexuality (go on, rub yourself for mayday), during which lovers would jump through a fire, bringing good luck for fertility, then making love in the woods (being VERY in tune with nature). Babies born through this were considered lucky babies, and were especially in touch with the Faerie world. It sounds just so magically delicious. I think I’ll go try it.
This summer, I’ll be graduating from middle school, and entering the new-and-improved hell of high school. Doesn’t that sound like fun? I’ve been to my sisters’ graduations (who went to the same middle school) and it’s so very stupid. I mean, someone bursts into song in the middle of the ceremony. And it’s always such a cheesy song, as if we’re supposed to be inspired by it. Like, oh my god! I’m just SO inspired. I think I might cry.
I found out recently that on Feb. 20th, there will be a complete lunar eclipse over the Bay Area, and almost exactly 6 months later, there will be a complete solar eclipse over china, turkey, and I think Japan. This is not only cool, but very weird, because February is the month of the bright moon which calls on the spring and femininity, due to the holiday Imbolc (I have a description on my January archive), while in August while in August 1st, the exact date of the holiday Lughnasah (ditto for this holiday) and the month of the last rays of the dying sun and on solar masculinity, the solar eclipse will take place. Kinda creepy, no?
I re-did my first poem and made it, what I think better. What do you think?
“Come away, O human child-
Away to the Faerieland!
For the World’s more full of weeping
Than you could understand
Where water rushes through the wood
And sweeps away your tears
No more death and no more pain
And never any fears
Apple trees and honey wine
At the end of Road of Pain
Hold me close my tearful love
To find Eden again
Come away, O human child-
Away to the Faerieland!
For the World’s more full of weeping
As you might have realized, I haven’t been blogging for a bit. So much has been going on- I just had my Bar Mitzvah in December, New Years, new semester in school… you get it. I got some new poems, so take a look.
I just bought several songs from the singer Sia off itunes, and she is, surprisingly, very good. Her songs have an undertone of blues, or old jazz music, but that makes it all the better, although her music videos are kinda weird. The only music video that I like is the”Breathe Me” video, which is sad, but sorta uplifting. Watch it, or I will kill you. The live recordings are REALLY good, though.

So I just read on Yahoo! that scientists have just discovered antimatter on the other side of the universe. And since antimatter is the same as regular matter, like us, then there might be entire galaxies that developed precisely as we did, meaning there is other life out there- but if we make physical contact with them, we’ll destroy the entire universe. That’s what happens when matter particles and antimatter particles make contact- they completely and totally obliterate all and every single little thing around them, meaing the universe, and the rest of the multiverse, would be completely obliterated.
Isn’t that exciting?
OK, Wiccans, I know this might not be your take on your religion, but as a future Wiccan, this is my take on the cycle of the year. I find it easier to start at Yule, even though Samhain is the beginning of the year:
YULE (Winter Solstice, Dec. 21-23)- The Earth Mother is old and withered with age, not nourished by the love of her child, the Sun, and receiving little consolation from her husband, Father Sky, who too is old and weary. She, in her tire, is seemingly barren and only bone seems to remain, while Father Sky, in his misery over his dead child, the Sun, weeps tears that turn to ice and become snow as they tumble from the skies. Little do they know their son is soon to be reborn from Mother Earth’s warm, hidden womb, just as, though in the icy woods where snow falls like a thousand stars tumbling from the heavens and animals are vanished away from this place of harsh ice and snow, they are, in fact, in hibernation, bound to emerge in the rebirth of spring.
IMBOLC (Feb.1-3)- The Earth Mother now realizes of her soon to be born son, and at this epiphany of rebirth, both she and the bringer of her child, Father Sky, are slowly re birthed in the light of optimism of regaining their lost son. Earth Mother’s breasts are now full and flowing with milk, just the same way as the ice of winter wears away in the gaining warmth and light, underground and aboveground rivers and streams flow bountifully with water as spring approaches. Father Sky slowly ceases weeping his icy tears, and without the obstruction of cloud and sadness, the Sky can allow the light to warm the cold earth.
EOSTARA (Spring Equinox, Mar. 21-23- At last, with the heave of the earth and an explosion of light and warth, the Sun is reborn from his Mother’s, the Earth, womb, his light illuminating the cold winter and heralding the arrival of spring. Animals, keen and eager to meet the source of warmth and illumination, emerge from their sleep and life blooms again. The Sun and his companion, the Moon, have become the Boy and the Maiden, imaginative and wide-eyed as they begin their journey through the worlds, and as day and night are in equal measure, they create the perfect balance.
BELTANE (May 1-3)- The Sun has become a handsome young man, and so too has his fellow creation and opposite from Mother Earth and Father Sky, the Moon become a beautiful young woman. As they leave behind the innocence of childhood, they flourish as one and fall in love with one another, bedding in the emerald foliage as all animals become abound in love and life.
LITHA (Summer Solstice, June 21-23)- The Sun has reached his peak in power, as so has the Moon. They have bloomed into the Father and Mother, brave and powerful as they rule with their parents. Their love is strong, and light plenty, but darkness is soon to come.
LUGHNASAH (Aug. 1-3)- As the Sun and Moon begin their descent from power, a shadow passes over the Moon’s heart. She begins to doubt and fear, hate and envy. The Sun takes no heed, but already her hatred and greed over her light is beginning to dim the Sun’s, the Earth and Skies beginning their descent into barrenness and ice.
MABON (Autumn Equinox, Sep. 21-23)- The Moon and Sun are in equal balance, but have begun their rite as the wise and elderly Sage and Crone. Hatred and evil have now claimed the Moon’s heart, and as Father Sky sees the impending doom to befall both him, his wife Mother Earth, and child Sun, begins to weep tears that become the rain. Iciness spreads from the Moon’ soul and turns all else to ice too; lakes and ponds, rivers and streams, as the balance begins to break.
SAMHAIN (Nov. 1-3)- The Sun has finally realized the blackening of his love’s heart, and in his realization, the Moon decides she does not need her husband anymore. The Sun is stabbed in the heart by the Moon, but even as he dies and his parents, Mother Earth and Father Sky, rage and weep at his death in the form of great storms and rains, the Moon dies too as she is consumed by the flames of Hell and her very own hatred. But this is not the end, for the will soon be reborn, and their love will prevail over the evil in the Moon’s heart, even despite all the weeping and pain raging all around the dying lovers. But for now, they die and tumble into the eternal darkness of death- together at last. And so it begins once more.
This is a story I wrote recently. Note, YOU MAY NOT TAKE FROM THIS PAGE WITHOUT MY EXPRESS PERMISSION!!!! But still, go ahead and read it.
” In the beginning, there was darkness. There was nothing, nothingness, nothing at all. Then, from the dark womb, was born light; the Sun and Moon, who threw their golden and silver spears of light to knife through the blackness and bring forth- life. Life was birthed from the barren earth and empty heavens, birds and beasts and creatures of all sorts. Together, the Sun and Moon ruled fair and just and kind over their World from their glass palace in the heavens, ruling all bird and beast and man with full hearts. But back then, there was no pain, and no sadness, and no evil, and no death, and the Sun and Moon were in love with one another, and all thought they would live forever and ever.
But then the serpent of evil found its way into the warm heart of the Moon, turning it to ice, and she found herself wanting to rule over the Realms alone. So as she was consumed by her newfound hatred and evil, she birthed corruption in all things, above all, man- and with evil’s birth, so too was born death. In a fit of evil, the Moon finally openly betrayed her love, stabbing him in the heart as he sat upon his glass throne, surveying his kingdom, and as he died, shocked and horrified by his wife’s corruption, he and she and all the worlds thought evil would rule forever and ever.
But the Sun returned just as the Moon claimed his throne, and even as darkness returned, so did light, as the Sun, tearful and saddened, battled his wife, his love, for supremacy over all the worlds. And so they battle, to this very day, Sun and Moon twirling and spinning and fighting across their glass, heavenly thrones, loving and hating and fightingin their infinite dance all the while, as darkness and light spin for all eternity. But the Sun knows one day, evil would fade away, until it would seem it had never been at all, and love would once again rule. And together, the Moon and Sun would once again be one, and peace would return, and all the worlds and Sun and Moon would love forever and ever…”
So, world, my first post on WordPress. I’m into writing poems, as all emo peoples be, so here’s one for your imaginative entertainment. It’s both a lullaby and a prophecy for a book I’m currently writing.
“Come Away, oh human child-
Away to the Faerieland!
For the World’s more full of weeping
Than you could understand
Love and hate and death collide
Woven close as one
Dark meets Light in close embrace
Shining like black sun
Spinning ‘cross the realms
In Crowning Twilight’s last gleaming
Together, hand in hand with death
We’ll pass into the Dreaming
Away to the Faerieland!
For the World’s more full of weeping
Than you could understand…”
